The Far Eastern Transport Investigation Department began an investigation into the death on October 9 of a three-month-old passenger of the flight Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky-Khabarovsk, who was sent for surgery to the Federal Center for Cardiovascular Surgery.



“A check is carried out on the fact of the death of the child during the flight to Khabarovsk ... According to the information received, the child was previously diagnosed with a serious illness,” the SC said.

The Ministry of Health of the Kamchatka Territory also announced the start of an official audit of the state of emergency.

“It is necessary to restore the chronology of events, to find out what equipment and a set of medications a medical team of doctors had with them in flight, what indicators the patient had before being transported to Khabarovsk,” the press service quotes the head of the regional department, Elena Sorokin.

According to local media, on October 9, a three-month-old baby died 20 minutes before the plane landed in Khabarovsk. Earlier, he was diagnosed with tetralogy of Fallot. According to the child’s mother, the medical officer accompanying them did not have enough medicines with them, as well as a device with automatic oxygen supply and maintaining the optimal temperature.
