Dubai Health Authority (DHA) has launched the second phase of the IVF initiative, which aims to provide people with disabilities, senior citizens and difficult conditions with the right food at home, through the smart application services of the Authority, in order to serve those unable to eat in the normal way.

The Authority explained that the tube feeding cost of one million dirhams in the case of the patient stay in the hospital, pointing out that the idea of ​​tubular feeding of patients depends on the delivery of the needs of patients through feeding pumps and pipes of their own, containing supplements they need, which saves the effort and time of patients and their families, Those who used to come to hospitals to get their needs, as well as the cost of storage in the warehouses of the Authority, and reduce the daily office work of nutritionists, giving them more time to focus on patients.

Patients with disabilities, senior citizens and patients suffering from illnesses are prevented from visiting the hospital for service.

The Director General of the Commission, Hamid Al-Qatami, told reporters yesterday, that malnutrition and inappropriate patterns linked to the overall global economic burden of health problems, including obesity, diabetes and blood pressure, explaining that the same issue can be linked to the positive impact of clinical nutrition, and its role in reducing the spread Chronic diseases and treatment of infectious and non-communicable diseases.

He stressed that the Authority is giving this specialization most of its attention, and is working to develop it, and supplying its specialized departments in hospitals and health centers with distinctive competencies. It also works to form partnerships and build relationships with all stakeholders and institutions, to establish the concepts of proper nutrition, and make it an important and key part of daily life, in support of the sustainability of health, and promote our goals to reach a healthier and happier society.

Wafaa Ayesh, director of therapeutic nutrition in the Authority, said that the advertising and propaganda practices carried out by some restaurants are detrimental to people's food behavior, especially as these restaurants place calorie-filled meals that destroy people's health. The patient was hospitalized during the year, but it is now less thanks to the home delivery by the health authority.

Fighting malnutrition

Wafaa Ayesh, director of therapeutic nutrition at the Health Authority, confirmed that recent studies prove that breastfeeding children reduce the chances of obesity, and contribute to the treatment of children with birth defects, and that severe weight loss leads to diseases, the most important of which are heart, cancer and osteoporosis.

She pointed out that malnutrition can increase the chances of cancer, diabetes, pressure and immunodeficiency, pointing out that the Authority is implementing initiatives to combat malnutrition, most notably «Captain Nutrition», and «my children from the earliest nails».
