A Yemeni government source told Al Jazeera that an agreement has been signed between the legitimate Yemeni government and the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council.

Under the Saudi-sponsored deal, a 50-50 unity government will be formed between north and south Yemen. It also requires the integration of military and security formations into the structures of the Ministries of Defense and Interior.

A Yemeni government source told Al Jazeera that the agreement provided for the government to return to Aden to activate state institutions.

The agreement also provides for the formation of a joint committee led by Saudi Arabia to implement the agreed items.

For his part, Yemen's Minister of Transport said that "coupists are driven to the courtrooms and not to the government chairs."

"We warn Saudi Arabia against rewarding the coup in the south, and any agreement with them will mean the failure of the coalition."
