It is reported by "STRANA.ua" with reference to the resolution of the Ukrainian Cabinet No. 875.

It is noted that the Ukrainian government decided that for the fulfillment of special duties entrusted to natural gas market entities in determining the necessary level of settlements for the heat energy producer under the contracts for the supply of natural gas concluded with Naftogaz Ukrainy, the debt for natural gas consumed will not be taken into account, used by units located in the LPR and DPR.

According to the Cabinet’s position, this will ensure the supply of natural gas to heat supply companies located in the territories of Donetsk and Lugansk regions controlled by Kiev and will contribute to the sustainable passage of the heating period.

Earlier, Naftogaz published a list of debtor companies involved in heating Ukrainian cities. Due to the debts accumulated by them, a number of settlements in Ukraine may remain partially or completely without heat in the winter.

In September, a leading analyst at the National Energy Security Fund, an expert at the Financial University under the Government of Russia, Igor Yushkov, in an interview with the FAN, commented on a statement by Naftogaz CEO Andrei Kobolev about Ukraine’s readiness for winter.
