Mohammed bin Rashid Space Center has published a new video for the UAE astronaut Hazza Al Mansouri, in the first video tour in Arabic about the International Space Station, explaining the components, devices and equipment on board, in addition to an overview of the daily life of astronauts aboard the station.
The video is the first of its kind to provide web pages with Arabic content on one of the world's leading astronaut destinations.
During the tour, Al-Mansouri presented a detailed explanation of the Russian section of the International Space Station, explaining that it contains the main computer, which is dedicated to controlling the station and forecasting the various failures, in addition to the various sports equipment used to conduct sports for two hours a day, and the place for sleeping and how the astronauts sleep.
In the Russian section of the International Space Station, a picture of the first astronaut in the world, Russian Yuri Gagarin, and the chief engineer, Sergey Korolyov, who is considered the father of Soviet space, as well as the flags of the countries participating in the experiments, including the UAE flag, and the entrance of Soyuz vehicles.
Al-Mansouri also presented the first part that arrived in space to build the Russian section, which is used for storage and bathing and tools for astronauts and others, in addition to the presentation of the Russian laboratory, which conducted various scientific experiments during his mission.
During the tour, Mansouri presented the components of the pressure chamber and how astronauts used the space suits, which he described as a small vehicle, and how astronauts use them to perform various maintenance or repair faults, or add devices and change batteries outside the International Space Station, which allows them to work for several hours, explaining that after Wearing the suit The astronaut enters the room, to equalize the pressure, before leaving the station for regular maintenance.
Al-Mansouri also explained how astronauts use toilets, while on board the space station, how water is treated, as well as the storage section on the station within each section.
The plant dates back to 1998, constructed with the cooperation of the United States and Russia, with funding from Canada, Japan and 10 European countries.
It has been receiving astronauts since the beginning of the century, especially since November 2000.It includes an international crew of six astronauts, who spend 35 hours a week in conducting deep scientific research, in various scientific disciplines of space, physical, biological and earth sciences.
During his scientific mission, Mansouri carried out 16 scientific experiments in cooperation with international space agencies.
