“One cannot ignore the fact that each of the CIS member states implements its own visa and migration policy, the provisions of the national legislations of our countries in this area do not always coincide,” he said in an interview with RIA Novosti.

Rudenko emphasized that such an opportunity should be carefully examined by experts from the competent authorities.

“First of all, it will be necessary to determine the circle of CIS countries interested in such a common visa and their willingness to compromise in terms of convergence of migration legislation,” the representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry said.

According to him, it is also necessary to assess the amount of preparatory work for the introduction of a single visa regime.

Earlier, the leader of Kazakhstan, Kasym-Zhomart Tokayev, proposed to consider the possibility of introducing a single visa regime for the CIS countries like “Schengen”.

The Nation News portal reported that Minsk, Nur-Sultan and Yerevan became the most popular CIS cities for autumn travel among Russians.
