Swish fraudsters cheated 80-year-old in Gävle of 15,000

It was on Sunday evening that another woman reported that she had been called by an impostor. According to police, the fraudster must have called her and received over SEK 15,000 via swish.

So-called "vishing" fraud increased sharply in 2018, and police say that this type of crime has decreased, but that several people are still affected.

- It is clear that there are more and more players - both nationally and internationally - who are deceiving people in Gävle and it is about a lot of money, says Mikael Hedström, the police spokesperson.
