Three crowns will be the tax on carrying bags when you buy food in the future. And 30 cents each small plastic bag you usually have fruits and vegetables will cost.

This is evidenced by the Government's draft law on the tax proposal.

The proposal follows the January agreement between the government and the Center Party and the Liberals. And it is the latter who particularly pushed the demand for tax on plastic bags, not the Environment Party, which is not particularly fond of the proposal.

The tax, which will come into force on May 1 next year, will be levied at SEK 3 per plastic carrier. Today, it already costs between two and three kronor in the store, so the price for the customer will be around five kronor.

In addition to the plastic bag for the groceries at checkout, there is a tax of 30 ounces on the small transparent racks used for fruits and vegetables.
