Putin will hold talks with the leader of Egypt on October 23 in Sochi


Russian President Vladimir Putin and Egyptian leader Abdel Fattah al-Sisi will hold a bilateral meeting on October 23 on the sidelines of the Russia-Africa economic forum in Sochi, said assistant to head of state Yuri Ushakov.

“Putin and Sisi will speak at 11 o’clock in this forum after they hold a bilateral meeting at 10 o’clock,” RIA Novosti quoted him as saying.

During the talks, the leaders plan to discuss trade and economic relations, as well as international issues, including the situation in the Middle East and North Africa.

Earlier, Putin called the upcoming Russia-Africa summit an unprecedented event.

Igor Gerasimov, professor at the Faculty of Economics at St. Petersburg State University, doctor of historical sciences, in an interview with the FBA “Economics Today,” noted the huge potential for economic integration between Russia and Africa.
