It is the Regional Board Chairman Carl Johan Sonesson (M), 1st Vice Chairman Annette Linander (C) and 2nd Vice Chairman Henrik Fritzon (S) who welcome the selected regional residents to the Skåne survey - but all parties represented in the regional council stand. behind it.

It is a joint political initiative to conduct the survey to obtain a greater basis for the region's annual report, says Johan Lidmark, who works as a democracy developer at Region Skåne and who works directly with the survey.

- There is always a discussion about whether politicians or service people should meet citizens, and where municipalities and regions act a little differently. In Region Skåne, we are consistent with the politicians being visible. The fact that it is both the chairman, the vice and the other vice signatories is to show that both the majority and the opposition are part of the whole.

Have you seen any dangers of interfering with the politicians in such a survey?

- I have not experienced any problem with it, but if there would be a more conflict-filled situation at one time, you would think that all parties want to join and sign or maybe that someone does not want to join in marking.

New design

The Skåne survey is about Region Skåne's operations and political governance. Some of the questions are purely factual questions with correct or incorrect answer options - to test how much those who answer really know about the region and how it is governed. A year ago, the survey showed that just over half of the Scouts knew which parties are in the majority.

This fall, it has been implemented for six years. Each year, a total of 1,500 people answer questions about the region and the topics are the same every time. In this way, it differs from the Skåne panel, another of Region Skåne's studies, which focuses more on current topics in politics.

Previously, the Skåne survey was conducted on three occasions per year by telephone. As of this year, it is instead twice a year and the respondents are also offered the opportunity to respond via the web. So far, the results have not surprised Johan Lidmark.

- Rather, the surprise is that it is very little different now that we have been on for almost six years. But having figures that the differences are small is also good. Should there be any major differences then, we know that something really happened.
