21 October 2019The bad weather affecting Liguria and Piedmont is causing flooding of the railway station in the Alessandria and Ovada areas.

The railway traffic is suspended between Cassano and Arquata Scrivia / Novi Ligure, with the consequent interruption of the circulation on the railway line between Genoa and Milan and that between Genoa and Turin.

Circulation also stopped between Rossiglione and Ovada, on the Genoa-Ovada line.

Rivers flooded in the Alessandria area
The bad weather situation in the province of Alessandria is worsening. The exit of the A7 'Milan-Genoa' exit was closed in Serravalle Scrivia. The stream Nero was flooded in Gavi and the ford was closed on the Lemme river which also emerged from the banks in Fraconalto, on the border with Liguria. A Fiat Panda 4x4 driven by an over-sixty-year-old was hit by water and turned over. The man, stuck and panicked, still managed to sound the alarm and was then rescued by firefighters and carabinieri.
