After the big water leak in Umeå - now the water is switched off again

In connection with the large water leak at Marieberg in Umeå last Friday, a connecting valve broke. It must now be repaired and therefore the water will be switched off again on Monday evening.

The water will be off between 17-00 on Monday. In total, about 80 households are again covered.

According to Johan Sjödin, communicator at Vakin, the problem arose when the water was shut off last Friday, a connecting valve broke.

- We had hoped to be able to fix it this weekend but had full up with the main leak, so we will go down and do it during the evening, says Sjödin.

Asking people to keep the faucet off

At midnight, the problem is expected to be fixed.

- We are now urging people to keep the cranes closed while work is in progress. Tomorrow it may happen that there is still some air in the pipes, but then it is only to flush water for a while, says Sjödin.

Vaccine also flags for the water to appear cloudy initially and that even it can be remedied by flushing cold water for 15-20 minutes. During the work, water tanks will be exhibited at Rådjursvägen 56 as well as at the Mariebergsskolen gymnasium.
