The Ministry of Education has launched the “Distance Learning Program” initiative free of charge, for national students and residents in kindergartens to twelfth grades who receive treatment outside the country or who accompany their parents abroad or other conditions that prevent them from attending school, in order to ensure their continuation of their education. This will be under a specific mechanism to be made available to them during their time outside the country, in cooperation with the country's embassies abroad.

The ministry informed Emirates Today that the initiative was launched by the ministry on a pilot basis last year with one of the students of the UAE school who is receiving treatment abroad, stressing that the student continued his studies and was able to achieve good results in all tests during the last academic year.

The Ministry pointed out that the number of students studying within the program «Distance Study», currently, 10 students in different stages of kindergarten through the twelfth grade, noting that it is required for the kindergarten student to receive distance education to attend a guardian training course In how to deal with the program, in order to achieve the educational objectives of the subjects taught by students of this stage.

The ministry added that the Information Technology Department is currently working in coordination with the evaluation and curriculum sector in the ministry to establish a specific mechanism that allows students who are abroad to pursue their studies «remotely», by ensuring the operation of the student account in the smart learning system, and through the program «Diwan» It allows teachers and students to view the curriculum electronically on their computers, interact with it in a seamless and interesting way, and allows them to download electronic copies of the various books available for all subjects, access them at any time and from anywhere, and provide the system with explanations of lessons scheduled voice A cross or video clips, by teachers of these materials, even watched the student.

She stated that the “distance study” program comes within the framework of the Ministry of Education's keenness to facilitate its students to receive their education fully, without interruption, in various circumstances, and wherever they are located, so that students whose conditions are transferred to pursue their studies within the State.
