Quentin Lafargue won the gold medal on the kilometer event and Michaël D'Almeida took the bronze at the European Track Cycling Championships Sunday in Apeldoorn (Netherlands), bringing two new medals to the France.

Already champion of the world and of France in title, Quentin Lafargue awards itself another trophy of champion of Europe of the kilometer after that obtained in 2016 in Saint-Quentin in Yvelines.

He is ahead of the Dutchman Théo Bos and Michaël D'Almeida.

Favorite of the event, Lafargue offered his second medal at the European Championships after the bronze medal in team speed alongside Grégory Baugé and Sébastien Vigier.

This is the fifth gold medal for the tricolor selection after the three titles won on Saturday by Corentin Ermenault in individual pursuit, Mathilde Gros in keirin, Bryan Coquard in the points race and that of Benjamin Thomas won in omnium Friday.

The French also have two bronze medals thanks to Michael D'Almeida this Sunday and the men's speed team, 3rd Wednesday.
