A number of moose have for some time been wandering around the residential areas in central Eksjö. Now the municipality has had enough and wants help in removing them.

- It's about a couple, three moose wandering around the living quarters. People may be a little scared because they are getting so close, says Jörgen Franzén, emergency response service leader in Eksjö.

The problem of moose in the central parts of the city has been going on for some time. And in order not to encourage the moose to remain, the municipality now appeals to the public to remove all fall fruit in their gardens. Fruit left on the ground attracts the animals and makes it extra interesting to stay in the living quarters.

As of Friday, the municipality has therefore placed containers.

- Containers have been exhibited in slightly different places in the city that are only for fall fruit, says Jörgen Franzén.

The containers will remain until week 45 and then hopefully the moose have left town.
