The Dubai Criminal Court has sentenced a gang of four people to three years in prison for robbery of a number of villas, theft of precious jewelery and watches worth about 219,000 dirhams, before hiding jewelry with a partner and fleeing the country.

The defendants waited for the opportunity to return to the UAE in order to extract their loot, but were arrested by Dubai police upon their return, and recovered a large part of the loot.

Three of the defendants admitted that they had come to the country to steal from the villas, and agreed with the fourth resident of the country to help them by providing phone slides, a means of transport, and guidance to high-end areas, and then hide the loot until he returns.

Investigations indicated that the three defendants infiltrated the villa, where they carried out their last crime, through the door of the balcony, and then opened five cabinets in one room, and found valuable items, including jewelry, Rolex watches and other types of various, valued at about 219 thousand dirhams, They fled the country via Dubai airport the same day.

An employee working for the owner of the villa said that he discovered the theft three days after his return from his vacation.He was surprised by the chaos in the place.He found the cupboards lying on the kitchen floor.He informed the police, pointing out that his boss (the owner of the villa) is outside the country for vacation. And he is responsible for the villa in his absence.

Police investigations revealed that the three defendants were involved in the theft of several villas during their stay in the state, with the participation of the fourth defendant, who concealed the loot in exchange for 3000 dirhams.

But the CID team followed him and caught him. During interrogation, he was instructed about looting.

The three defendants returned to the state a month after their last crime, to be arrested at Dubai airport, and referred to the Public Prosecution, and then to the Criminal Court.
