The facts
He was killed with a shotgun shotgun shot by his neighbor Asuntino Mirai, 66, a native of Sardinia and a farmer in the Pinerolo area. The events took place in the street, in a hamlet of Pinasca (Turin), a town of just under 3,000 inhabitants. Mirai was shot while walking with his partner. The crime took place late yesterday afternoon, in the hamlet of Case Sparse. The murderer, a seventy-year-old already known to the police, Stefano Barotto, a mason by profession, fled carrying the same rifle used in the attack. The Pinerolo carabinieri searched for him in the area's woods, where the murderer had taken refuge and set up numerous checkpoints. From the first investigations, it seems that at the origin of the murder there are frequent quarrels between neighbors. Those who know them, say they have often heard the two men argue. To trigger the murderous madness, this time it would have been a trivial discussion for parking cars.
