At least 13 people have been injured tonight in the altercations produced near the Plaza del Callao . Three of them are national police, one of whom has a potentially serious prognosis since he has needed hospital transfer due to a cut in one leg. The other two injured police officers have suffered a broken collarbone and a blow to the head.
The rest of the injured are of a mild nature except one of the protesters, who has a possible broken arm and has also been taken to a hospital.
The altercations and police charges have occurred in Madrid after a hundred protesters have tried to cut Gran Vía .
The clashes between protesters and the security forces took place at around 8.30 pm, an hour after a march of 4,000 people ended , which on Saturday, as every year, has called for the "amnesty of all political prisoners."
The charges have begun in Gran Vía, when several hundred protesters have tried to cut this avenue and the National Police have charged against them.
Subsequently, the protesters have taken chairs and furniture from a terrace in Madrid's Plaza de Callao and threw them against the agents, causing one of the policemen to be injured.
During the altercations a man has been arrested in Callao. Afterwards, moments of tension and charges have moved to Preciados Street, while the National Police has evicted Callao Square, with mobilario thrown away, and about thirty police vans have cut off traffic on Gran Vía.
