Several thousand people in the capital Zagreb, and in 13 cities in Croatia, have called for justice and have expressed their anger, following a sordid news item revealed last week. A minor in the southern city of Zadar was raped for one year by five young people in the city. They would have filmed their antics and used these videos to force the victim to new sex.

But it was the behavior of the justice that shocked the most, since the suspects were left at liberty after the investigation. They would have benefited from political support for this. The court finally had them arrested on October 18, in an attempt to limit the dispute.

Too late. In the ranks of protesters many personalities called for an awareness of violence against women, as well as the abolition, in law, of the distinction between rape and the astonishing crime of "sexual intercourse without consent ", Considered less serious in Croatian law. They also demanded a change of scenery in the Zadar affair to avoid pressure on judges and better care for victims of sexual crimes.
