It was one day in May 2018 that a 32-year-old man was shot to death with multiple shots in a car at Guldheden in Gothenburg. Two weeks later, a 57-year-old was murdered on Lidingö.

A now 20-year-old man was arrested some time later, suspected of both murders. But prosecutors and police have constantly claimed that he carried out the murder on the order of someone, a person who is still not called.

Now the Supreme Court of Western Sweden upholds the district court's ruling. The man is sentenced to 18 years in prison, which is the maximum penalty for people under 21.

A young girl, at the age of 16, was also convicted of murder in the District Court. For her, the High Court mitigates the sentence and believes that she should be sentenced for assisting in the murder. Two years of closed youth care will be the penalty.

Punishment relief in several cases

A then 17-year-old boy is sentenced for the murder of Lidingö to four years of closed youth care, the same as in the District Court.

Another man, a 23-year-old, who drove the getaway car at the murder of Lidingö was sentenced in the District Court to life imprisonment. He is now given 18 years in prison instead.

A young man who was convicted of assisting with murder after burning the getaway car is released from the suspicion in the High Court.

Another number of people have also been involved in the events. More about the course of events can be found in this article.
