Almost two-thirds of French people are in favor of expanding the PMA to all women, a proportion that has been rising since the vote on the bioethics law, as well as support for the GPA for heterosexual and homosexual couples, according to a poll Odoxa for Le Figaro and Franceinfo.

According to the poll released Friday, 63% of those polled said they favor the extension of the PMA to single women and couples of homosexual women, the flagship measure of the draft bioethics bill adopted Tuesday at first reading by the National Assembly.

Support up six points since a previous poll of Odoxa in early October, highlight franceinfo and Le Figaro.

In addition, respondents favor the authorization of surrogacy (surrogacy) to 68% for heterosexual couples and 53% for same-sex couples. This is, respectively, 8 points and 12 points more than in a survey of Ifop published in 2014, franceinfo reports.

The authorization of the GPA does not appear in the law of bioethics and the government reaffirmed that this practice always represented "an absolute prohibition in France". But some opponents of the law see the extension of the PMA as a first step towards a future legalization of GPA.
