WASHINGTON (Reuters) - President Donald Trump was furious and broke with Democratic and Republican leaders meeting with him on Syria as soon as he learned of passing legislation condemning his decision to withdraw troops there, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said on Thursday.

Pelosi said Trump was dropped in his hand when Democrats pressed him over his plan to fight IS, and said she would pray for Trump's health after he was angry at the White House meeting.

The speaker of the House of Representatives accused President Trump of doing what facilitates Russian influence in the Middle East, adding that Trump said he promised to bring the troops home, asking: "Is the homeland is Saudi Arabia?".

Pelosi said that Russia has always wanted a foothold in the Middle East, and President Trump has allowed it to do so, and to put US military aid to Ukraine in question and this serves Vladimir Putin.

The US House of Representatives voted in favor of a resolution denouncing President Donald Trump's decision to withdraw from northern Syria, and urged Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, to put the bill to the Senate vote.

House Democratic Majority Leader Steny Hoyer also criticized President Trump's decision to withdraw US troops from northern Syria, while ordering an additional 2,000 troops to Saudi Arabia.
