The Sharjah Charity Association paid off the debts of an inmate in a penal institution on the back of his failure to pay rent dues, prompting the landlord to escalate the matter to the courthouse, which ordered him to be imprisoned pending the payment of the amount due.

According to the report of the Internal Aid Department at the association, the prisoner was working in a private place and supported his wife and four daughters. However, his conditions worsened after his services were terminated from his work.He could not pay the overdue amounts.Hence, the landlord found no way out except to resort to the court that served the tenant's imprisonment.His family was evicted from the rented apartment to live with a relative.

Asaad Al Zarouni, head of the Internal Aid Department at Sharjah Charity Society, told Emirates Today that the wife of the prisoner came to the association, and the file was received and reviewed. Family, and contact the competent authority in the correctional and penal institution, for more details about the prisoner.

He added that the results of the field research revealed the extent of the suffering of the family, and the distraction suffered after the head of the family entered the prison, and girls stopped completing school, with no source of income to provide them with daily basic needs, and all dependence on relatives who live with them.

Al-Zarouni confirmed that the case file was presented to the Emergency Aid Committee, which approved the payment of rental fees for the prisoner. Take formal action by paying the amounts due, so that the prisoner can return to his family and find a job again, and continue his life again away from debt.

Al-Zarouni thanked all the benefactors who donated and contributed to the relief of these cases, and supported the society in ensuring that its debts were paid and freed from prison bars, so that it could start a new life among its families.
