A review by Ekot shows that since the beginning of 2018, over 3000 appeals have been received to the administrative courts from municipalities that demand the Swedish Migration Board for money. Eight out of ten municipalities in the country have gone to court. One of them is Nässjö.

- We think that we have done the same thing with everyone who comes new to our municipality. The state has given us an assignment and then we want compensation for that. We need to have a more legal system for this, says Anci Magnusson, chairman of the municipal council in Nässjö.

Nässjö has received no from the Migration Board when it comes to reimbursement for, among other things, increased costs for social security contributions, for unemployed new arrivals and for unaccompanied young people placed on HVB homes.

The Swedish Migration Board tells Ekot that it follows the government's regulations on what parts to which compensation should be distributed.
