Khalifa University was ranked first in the UAE universities and second in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region, in the latest Times Higher Education Engineering and Technology ranking of 2020, and among the top 200 academic institutions worldwide. On the other hand, Khalifa University is in the range of 176-200 out of 1,008 universities included in the Times of 2020 ranking in more than 70 countries in the world.

On the other hand, the University of Sharjah has achieved two new achievements globally, winning the first place for the Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations Sustainability Program, as ranked by the Times of the World University Rankings, on par with Khalifa University of Science and Technology, which received the same status at the national level.

The University of Sharjah achieved another achievement by winning the second place in engineering and technology at the level of universities operating in the country, according to the evaluation of the world organization itself, to advance its position at the level of universities all over the world to 400.
