Jumped off as a professional criminal - Helsingborg refuses to give him sheltered accommodation

The police believe that "Nils" has a threat against him because he has jumped off a criminal network. “Nils” turns to the city of Helsingborg and applies for a sheltered accommodation. The municipality says no. There, officials say he is not a resident of Helsingborg because he is staying elsewhere at that time.

- I would not have lived any longer if I was left. If I seek help from where I fled they say I'm not from there, if I seek help where I fled they also say I'm not from there. I end up in the middle of it, it's totally sick to be able to go like this, ”says Nils.

"Nils" appeals the decision to the administrative court. The court gives him the right. The Administrative Court considers that he should receive help from the Social Administration in Helsingborg. His connection to Helsingborg is sufficient, according to the court.

But Helsingborg's social administration appeals.

- I think it's scary. That you have to fight when you are as vulnerable as you are. I am already at a disadvantage and it should take so long, I think that is horrible, ”says Nils.

The social service in Helsingborg refuses to put up an interview in the case. Neither does the Social Committee chairman Samuel Lilja (M) want to be interviewed. But over the phone we reach Jessica Granquist, head of operations at the social service in Helsingborg.

- We have the right to appeal a decision, it is a court order we have. It depends on where you are written, what hibernation you have and lots of other things. We have different ways of looking at this, which is why we have asked to have this tested, ”she says.

“Nils” says that he does not want to think about what will happen if he does not get help.

- I do not feel good. I can't afford the luxury of feeling at all because I don't know where this will end. I am now struggling to choose the right path in life, ”says Nils.

- That was the path I chose then. If you do not help those who want to change and do something good instead, then I think that society has failed completely. Then you should not whine if it slams right and left, says “Nils”.
