They pointed out that the Department of Health in Abu Dhabi started to raise community awareness of the role of family doctor and awareness of ways to prevent common and chronic diseases, and provide programs to combat obesity and smoking and women's health before and after childbirth and mental health, and the number of visitors to clinics and centers exceeded two million annually.

This year, the conference attracts more than 160 researchers and specialists from leading family medicine and primary health care professionals from all over the world.

Dr. Omar Al-Jaberi, Chairman of the conference, said that the developed world prefers to rely on the family doctor, where primary health care focuses on the largest segment of patients, and most diseases are the first point of contact in the health sector, where The patient to a specialist rather than multiple doctors.

He pointed to a number of initiatives in the treatment services, including the recruitment of specialized doctors in the centers to facilitate the patients, and coordination of proactive care before the outbreak of the disease in accordance with the established standards, pointing out that there are 38 centers of treatment services in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, stressing the need to raise awareness of the importance of family doctor Which plays an important role both for the patient and for the overall health system.

He pointed to challenges facing the health care sector where obesity is still high among the community members, where the prevalence rate among the reviewers 30%, and a plan has been developed in cooperation with the Department of Health and identify target segments, especially children, pointing out that therapeutic services have a tendency to appoint specialists in mental About 20% of those suffering from chronic diseases have psychiatric disorders, including anxiety and depression, and need to intervene to avoid the organic effects of mental illness.

Al Jaberi added that mental health specialties and the discovery of signs of addiction will be expanded in the coming 38 clinics and primary centers in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.
