Interior Minister Christophe Castaner said Thursday that a "60th attack" was foiled since 2013, before the killing at the police headquarters in Paris on October 3, and that it was a project of hijacking.

There was "no attack foiled since October 3", he said, in response to a question, during the show "You have the word" on France 2.

On the other hand, added the minister, "just before" this date a 60th attack was foiled "since 2013 by the intelligence services. This was, he said," an individual who wanted to inspire from 11 September 2001 in the United States.

When asked if he wanted to hijack a plane, he said, "It was his project, he was getting organized like that". This individual was arrested by the police, he said, without further details.

According to a judicial source, a man was indicted on September 26 for "terrorist criminal conspiracy" and imprisoned.

A source close to the case has confirmed that it was criticized in particular for having considered hijacking a plane.
