- There has been some kind of explosion outside the building. There must be damage to the building and several windows are broken. We are ready on the spot and have handed the case over to the police, ”says Christer Wahlström, commanding officer at the rescue service.
The national bomb protection was first called to the site, but shortly thereafter an explosion occurred at Södermalm in Stockholm - which prioritized the Vaxholms explosion.
- The rescue service has used a heat camera on the building in Vaxholm and they have not found any person who was injured. We therefore prioritized the explosion at Södermalm, says Peter Asp, the commanding officer of the Stockholm Police, and continues:
- However, we have a patrol in place in Vaxholm and the bomb technicians will go there as soon as they are ready at Södermalm.
