It is reported by RIA Novosti with reference to a published document.

The bill was introduced by Congresswoman Liz Cheney and more than 90 Republicans.

It is specified that the US authorities propose introducing restrictions against “Turkish officials”, including “the Turkish president, the Turkish vice president, the Turkish defense minister, the Turkish foreign minister,” and a number of other officials.

The bill also provides for sanctions against “any foreigner ... who provides financial, material or technological support to the Turkish armed forces”.

Earlier, US President Donald Trump signed a decree imposing sanctions against Turkey in connection with the Turkish military operation in Syria.

On October 15, the US Ministry of Finance announced the imposition of sanctions against the Turkish Ministry of Defense and the Ministry of Energy and the heads of these departments.
