“The number of persons in respect of whom a decision was made to acquire Russian citizenship is 284 982 people,” the Interior Ministry said.
Over the same period last year, Russian citizenship was granted to more than 192 thousand people.
Also, since the beginning of the year, employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs have issued more than 91 thousand work permits to foreign citizens and stateless persons. In addition, more than 1.3 million work patents were issued.
Earlier, the Interior Ministry called the number of illegal migrants deported from Russia.
