S still wants to tear up the agreement

The officials in the health and care administration have produced a decision basis, which shows what the consequences will be if the city of Helsingborg takes back heavily criticized Valltorp under municipal auspices.

Christel Håkansson has taken note of it - but has come to a different conclusion than the Alliance.

She believes that the municipality's agreement with Attendo should be revoked. Although this entails increased costs.

- We can't treat people this way.

Håkansson is particularly upset by the recent IVO report that showed major shortcomings at Valltorp. It was found, among other things, that the staff does not always respond to alarms and that staffing at nights is not sufficient.

Employees also stated that they did not have the knowledge to care for people with dementia and the elderly with mental illness.

The alliance proposes that Attendo continue to operate Valltorp, but that the municipality takes over responsibility for the food at the elderly housing.

- I'm critical of that. It just proves that Attendo does not live up to the agreement, says Christel Håkansson.

The Environmental Party has also taken part in the decision basis. However, the party has not reached a conclusion.

- Attendo has had several years on it but has not succeeded and the city's elderly do not have time to wait. We will go through the documents and then we will take a stand, "says Lena Östholm Munkberg (M), member of the Board of Health and Care Services.
