The Teachers' Association ranking is presented each year. According to the union, it is being done to encourage municipalities that give students, teachers and school leaders good conditions. In the fact box below you can see what 10 factors were examined in the ranking.

At the top of the valley municipalities, Malung-Sälen municipality ends this year, while Säter municipality falls to the bottom. Säter ended up at the bottom even when the Teachers' Federation ranked the municipalities earlier this year.

Changed criteria

Many municipalities also appear to have lost or climbed many placements on the list since last year, but this is not something you should attach too much importance to, according to Hanna Metsis, who is a press secretary at the Teachers' Union.

- It's about having re-graded and changed the criteria, so this year's ranking and last year's cannot be compared, she says.

For example, criteria that have been most strongly governed by socio-economic factors, such as grading results, average credit value in grade 9 have been removed.

This is how the valley municipalities place themselves in the ranking of the country's 290 municipalities (last year's placement in brackets):
