“We, the deputies of the Kharkov city council, support the president of Ukraine in search of peace. We consider Steinmeier’s formula the only real way to end the war, ”the report says.
The deputies also said that the withdrawal of troops in the Donbass is "not a retreat, but a step forward to an even greater ceasefire, and, consequently, deaths."
The City Council called on colleagues from local government at all levels to support the efforts of Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky in his “activities towards the return of peace to Ukraine,” as well as to withdraw decisions to prevent Steinmeier’s formula.
“The Kharkov City Council requires politicians at all levels to stop insinuating around this document, as well as to refrain from holding the No Capitulation campaign,” the appeal says.
Earlier the Kherson and Sumy City Councils voted against the Steinmeier formula.
