Among the unpublished films of this year, we note in particular the string quartet by Gavin Bryars, one of the most successful English composers, brought to the stage by The Smith Quartet on February 4th. Do not miss the music of the baroque repertoire, with an evening entirely dedicated to Händel of the ensemble Il Rossignolo and the presence of the director and founder Ottavio Tenerani in the role of harpsichordist (10 March). Instead, the appointment that will celebrate the hundred years since the birth of Piero Farulli, founder of the concert season of the Normale, will be characterized by classic and romantic masterpieces: the Quartetto di Fiesole and the cello by Giovanni Gnocchi will play on March 31st music by Schubert, Mozart and Webern in memory of the great Florentine violinist.

The absolute novelty of this year will be the challenge of a work dedicated to children: between 21 and 26 October, the tin soldier , unpublished of musical theater commissioned for the occasion to Andrea Basevi, the most important Italian child music composer. "I consider it essential that children approach music, not through the most obvious repertoire, but through the notes of a living author, learning from the start that even today we write beautiful, accessible and interesting music", explains Carlo Boccadoro , for the third year artistic director of the Concerts of the Normal.

Confirmed the "Sound Box" section, with the refined improvisations between jazz and classicism (Bebo Ferra and Paolino della Porta, on November 13th, and Paolo Birro, on February 21st) but also with the electric ones by Zumtrio, which will surprise the public with unusual appointment on January 29th at the Borderline Rock Club. There will also be space for Italian popular music with Francesca Gallo (20 January) and L'usignolo (10 April). Spotlights also on the promising youngsters, such as the twenty-three-year-old Filippo Gorini, considered one of the most interesting piano talents of his generation (25 February). Also in this edition many of the appointments will be preceded by lectures given by the artists to introduce the pieces they will perform.
