Mohammed Rashid Al Mansouri, Deputy Head of the UAE Mission in the UAE Embassy in Moscow, told Emirates Today that the UAE-Russia partnership is a strategic one, and that the bilateral relationship between the two countries is witnessing continuous development in various fields. “The diplomatic relations between the two countries, established with the Soviet Union in 1971 and completed with the Russian Federation in 1991, have continued to grow, prosperity and development, and deepened by the cooperation of the two countries in combating the challenges of The region, especially terrorism and extremism, threatens the Islamic world and the international community. ” The bilateral cooperation between the UAE and Russia is in the strategic dimensions, especially with the announcement in June last year of the "strategic partnership" between them, which included political, security, trade, economic, cultural, humanitarian, scientific, technological and tourism fields.

Al-Mansouri said that exemption of citizens of the two countries from the visas prior to travel between them, boosted the tourism sector, adding that «the state is looking to increase the number of carriers between its cities and Russian cities».

"The strength of our partnership makes us determined to move forward to address regional and global issues and enhance cooperation in various fields, especially in the fields of security and defense," he said, pointing out the importance of Russian President Vladimir Putin's visit to the UAE the day before yesterday.
