On September 4, the chain manufacturer Ramnäs Bruk announced that due to declining order intake, twelve employees will have to be notified. A week later, the staffing company Manpower in Köping went out with being forced to notify 189 employees, mainly because Volvo Powertrain does not need as much hired manpower anymore.

- It is of course very sad that it has become to this extent. Many people are worried, says Johan Nilsson, Ombudsman at IF Metall Mälardalen.

It involves 119 permanent employees and some 70 permanent employees.

The slowdown is expected to continue

The following day, Kanthal in Hallstahammar announced that 14 employees on the official side are being notified, part of the workshop group Sandvik's savings package. On Friday, a message was received from SECO Tools in Fagersta, which is also part of the Sandvik Group, that they will be forced to notify because of a slowdown in order bookings. The company does not want to go out with any figures, but according to the trade union IF Metall, there are about 50 services at the resort. With several negative messages in a short period of time, the question of more notifications is to wait in the county.

"According to our Entrepreneurial Panel, where we have asked questions to 400 companies in Västmanland, the slowdown will continue and it will have an impact on employment," says Kristin Lahed, Swedish Enterprise's regional manager in Västmanland.
