WASHINGTON (Reuters) - A conference of supporters of US President Donald Trump at the presidential retreat in Miami showed a video showing Trump falsely shooting, stabbing and assaulting some media professionals, The New York Times reported.

Prominent Trump-related figures were scheduled to speak at the event, including former White House press secretary Sarah Sanders, as well as Donald Trump Jr., according to the paper, which watched the video.

The report said Sanders and Trump Jr. did not watch the video.

The video reportedly features satirical clips on the Internet and the slogan of Trump's re-election campaign. The New York Times reported that one of the videos showed the head of Trump installed on the body of an armed man who opened fire on what was called the "fake news church." The targets carried faces of media slogans.

CNN, which was frequently mentioned in Trump's speeches against what he called "fake news" and reportedly targeted in the video, issued a statement condemning the video.

"Unfortunately, this is not the first time that the president's supporters have promoted violence against the media in a video they seem to consider amusing, but by far the worst," CNN said in a statement on Twitter.

She called the picture "sordid and horrible" and called on Trump to condemn the video.
