It was when the Alliance in Gothenburg held a press conference on Monday where, among other things, budget initiatives at sports facilities were presented, that Slottsskogshallen came to talk.

The hall that burned down in mid-September was supposed to be replaced between 2023 and 2025, but that analysis was based on what the situation looked like before the fire.

- We wanted to make that investment earlier in order to avoid prioritizing it, says Elisabet Lann (KD).

- For me, it is extremely important that Gothenburg is a city where children and young people can have meaningful freedom. It prevents mental ill-health, crime and it promotes democracy, she says.

125 million is invested

According to Elisabet Lann, (KD), SEK 125 million is invested in the construction of Slottsskogshallen.

- It is a completely different type of hall to be built, with an audience capacity of 1,500 spectators. It will be equipped for cups and events. A better hall for more purposes, she says.

Several halls

She says that Gothenburg is a city that attracts both cups and events and that halls have been bad in the past. Therefore, sports facilities are now also planned in Kviberg. There is also a hall planned with an audience capacity of 1,500 spectators.

- That hall will temporarily replace the Liseberg Hall, says Elisabeh Lann, (KD).

In addition, an ice rink is planned in Kviberg. The cost of the two buildings is at 200 million.

- It feels good to make this venture now, it would be incredibly sad to have to live with a burnt plot for several years. For me, it feels important to say that we are rebuilding here, says Elisabet Lann, (KD).
