Antoine Kombouaré was appointed coach of Toulouse FC until 2021, replacing Alain Casanova, dismissed Thursday from his duties, announced Monday the Toulouse club on its website.
Kombouaré, 55, takes the lead of a team in doubt, ranked 18th with only nine points, accompanied by three men, Yves Bertucci, Michel Dufour and Rudy Riou as guardian coach.
The new coach will be officially presented Tuesday at 12:30.
Kombouaré is the 8th coach of the era of President Olivier Sadran after Eric Monbaerts (2001-2006), Elie Baup (2006-2008), Alain Casonava (2008-2015 and 2018-Oct 2019), Dominique Arribagé (2015-2016 ), Pascal Dupraz (2016- jan 2018), Mickaël Debève (jan 2018 - june 2018).
Kombouaré who has more than 400 matches on the bench was on the Sadran short list including Frédéric Hantz, Mickaël Landreau.
Saturday, Toulouse welcomes Lille before going to Rennes and receiving Lyon.
