Moustapha Gueye has been living in France since 2011. This professor of physics and chemistry in Senegal has been teaching for two years in two colleges in Montpellier, in the south of France. While he is under expulsion on Monday, October 14, the Hérault prefecture should lift "in part" the obligation to leave the French territory.

Aged 32, Moustapha Gueye, professor of physics and chemistry, started classes with a sword of Damocles. Obliged to leave French territory (OQTF), he feels the pressure of having to leave his pupils at any moment.

" It's really difficult. Stress, lack of sleep ... This is a situation I did not know. I was quiet. Today, I have this problem. We can say that the OQTF has really changed my life. I had a residence permit that was valid until December 20, 2020. We do not expect to receive an OQTF if we have a valid residence permit, "he said.

Despite a residence permit and a contract of employment, the prefecture reproaches Moustapha Gueye's employer - namely the rectorate - for failing to comply with the recruitment procedure.

" The prefecture accuses the rectorate of not having followed the procedure of publishing advertisements for three months to be sure that there is not a candidate already present on the job market to fill this job. Then you can hire foreign nationals. In fact, the rectorate does not respect these recruitment methods. The rectorate has its own recruitment cells and then, from within, a pool of candidates to fill the vacant positions in September, "explains Julien Frayssinhes, teacher and member of the Support Collective.

From Monday, October 14, the colleagues of Moustapha Gueye went on strike to ask the prefecture the final lifting of the OQTF and the examination of his application for naturalization.
