Egyptian security forces kidnapped a civilian and human rights activist Esraa Abdel Fattah on Saturday evening while she was returning home and took her to an unknown place, witnesses and rights activists said.

One of her friends, Mohammed Salah, an eyewitness to the kidnapping, said the activist Esraa Abdel Fattah was arrested after her car was stopped by two cars in the middle of the road.

He explained in his blog post on Facebook, that the security elements also kidnapped him and put him in a car, and placed Esra in the other car, and threw him in an area far from the place of kidnapping, pointing out that the communication has been lost since the incident, which was at 7 pm on Saturday.

Esraa Abdel Fattah is one of the most prominent faces of the January 25, 2011, revolution, but she kept a low profile after the July 3, 2013 coup and was not involved in any political activities in recent years, and did not post political posts on her Facebook page except for her support for the initiative.
