During the night there are no activities planned, but it can be a place to warm up, sit quietly, light a candle or talk over a cup of coffee. The idea is to be there for people at night and thus reach different groups.

- Partly those who may not have time to come during everyday life, those who are curious about how the atmosphere feels in the cathedral during the night, but also another pub visitor on the way to or from town, says Michael Turner, ward educator in Västerås.

The premiere of the night-open church has already been and according to the church there was a large age range for the visitors.

- Many were curious as to why the cathedral was open and looked in, some came to warm themselves and take shelter from the rain. Some of the youths came to the church waiting for parents to come and fetch them. It was exciting meetings, says Michael Turner.

The cathedral's regular opening hours are 9-17.
