The family tragedy was consumed around 8 pm in the couple's apartment, which is located on the ground floor of a building in the Costa district in Folgaria. The neighbors heard a shot and called the carabinieri who immediately arrived at the scene and surrounded the house. Reinforcements also arrived within minutes. All roads in the area have been blocked.
While the man's companion managed to escape from a back window, the son of the woman who was at home with them was shot dead. Barricaded in the house, the attacker would eventually take his own life.
