Ariel publishing house, located in a red little cottage on Linderödsåsen in Skåne, has published the Polish author and 2018 Nobel Laureate Olga Tokarczuk, since 2002. In total, Mikael Nydahl has published eight of Tokarczuk's works in Swedish. In total, the author has written some twenty fiction books, both poetry and prose.

It began almost twenty years ago, when Mikael Nydahl searched for new Polish writers. Olga was then in her thirties and Mikael had received a tip about her and some articles in German by a colleague.

- I got stuck for her lyrics right away. She was young and promising, says the publisher, to SVT News Skåne.

Shortly thereafter, Mikael Nydahl invited her to writer's evenings in Sweden and that way it is.

Collaborates with Bonniers

- It has been written a lot that I have sold the rights to Bonniers. And, says Mikael Nydahl.

"A well deserved confirmation"

About Olga Tokarczuk Mikael Nydahl writes on the publisher's website:

“It has been an adventure, in close collaboration with her and her translators to Swedish, Jan Henrik Swahn and Lennart Ilke, to follow how the authorship has developed into one of the central elements of today's European literature. Today's Nobel Prize is a well-deserved affirmation of her importance, and for the publisher it is a great pleasure to see the many years of joint work crowned by this fine award. "
