In order to promote the export of agriculture, forestry and fishery products, the government decided on a bill to establish a new organization. I would like to create a so-called command tower that centrally handles policy planning and domestic procedures, and leads to further expansion of exports.
Under the bill, the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries has newly established the Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Products and Food Export Headquarters to centrally manage policy planning and domestic procedures.
Exports of agriculture, forestry and fishery products and foods continue to increase, and the government has set a goal of increasing to 1 trillion yen, but by August, it was 588.8 billion yen, and the achievement is a delicate situation .
Currently, it has been pointed out that domestic procedures for clearing sanitary standards necessary for exports, etc., are straddling multiple ministries and hindering export expansion, so the new organization can be used as a command tower, I would like to further expand exports.
The government intends to submit this bill to an extraordinary parliament for finalization.
Mr. Eto, Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries told the reporters after the cabinet meeting, “I want to develop a system for the government to work together in a strategic manner to further expand exports.”
