11 October 201911.18 The Nobel Committee awarded the 2019 Peace Prize to the Ethiopian Prime Minister, Abiy Ahmed Ali, for "his efforts to achieve peace and international cooperation, in particular for his decisive initiative to resolve the conflict at border with neighboring Eritrea ". Born in 1976, "it has initiated important reforms that give many citizens hope for a better life and a brighter future. As Prime Minister he has sought to promote reconciliation, solidarity and justice".
