In the San Fernando Valley, northern California, the fire on Friday morning had spread to over 2,000 acres and continued to move, affecting over 300 acres per hour.
Around 23,000 homes are at risk of being destroyed and around 100,000 people have been forced to leave their homes.
"Don't wait to evacuate," Fire Chief Ralph Terrazaz calls on residents in the area.
