Abiy Ahmed Ali was one of the advance favorites for this year's Peace Prize. The rationale states, among other things, that it is seeds of his decisive work to resolve the border conflict with neighboring Eritrea. Foreign Minister Ann Linde agrees.

- I am extremely happy that he receives the Peace Prize, but also happy for the people of Ethiopia and Eritrea. Developments on the Horn of Africa since 2018 have been incredible, after 20 years of warfare between Ethiopia and Eritrea.
