The Paris police headquarters has planned a major safety device on Monday during the France-Turkey match at the Stade de France, a qualifier for the Euro-2020, which takes place in an extremely difficult political and sporting context.

According to the prefecture, 78,000 spectators are expected Monday night at the Stade de France in Saint-Denis for this meeting that can allow the Blues to take a big step towards qualifying for the Euro, after being beaten 2-0 by the Turks at Konya in June.

Added to the sporting stakes were diplomatic tensions with the outbreak by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan of an offensive against the Kurds of Syria, strongly condemned by Emmanuel Macron.

To ensure the smooth running of the match, the police prefecture has provided a "general security device to prevent disturbances to public order before, during and after the meeting."

The services of the prefecture will be supported by "mobile forces mobilized on the periphery of the stadium but also inside" it, it was specified to AFP.

"Increased vigilance will be exercised in Saint-Denis, Seine-Saint-Denis and Paris, before, during and after the match in case of rallies", it was insisted.

In addition, "identity checks will be carried out as well as vehicle inspections". "Vigilance will also be required in public transport," finally said the police headquarters.
